while on the subject, when the hell is child's play (the original) going to be released widescreen anamorphic? christ this movie has a big enough following that a reissue should be a no-brainer.

While not anamorphic, the Australian release is at least widescreen. I got tired of waiting, and picked this up a while back.

It was a failure set (1 movie is lacking due to license issue) and it is very easy to get. SOme retail stores you can get it for $15 but mostly its at $19.99

Isn't the first Child's Play release that's full frame the unmatted version of the widescreen? Don't get me wrong... I'd much much MUCH rather have the widescreen version anamorphic for my TV, I just think it COULD have been worse.

I am mostly irritated that Seed of Chucky in the set is the rated version...if it was unrated I'd have bought this probably.

Seriously, what a pain.
I grabbed it for $15 last year at Fry's. Not bad.

Good set, especially that it takes up less than 1/2 the space for the older box set and extra movie...

For me this whole thing loses sense since the set omits the first part. Had it been there, I'd take it right away. Without it - it's just a pile of paper and plastic.

It is retarded animatedude but MGM holds the rights to the first film, hence why they can't release it that way.

The first movie wasn't in the set because MGM owns the rights to it. There is no way there will ever be a R1 box set with all of the films.

I didn't know until now that apparently the Bride of Chucky DVD included in this set loses the text-based extras including "History of Chucky" and Jennifer Tilly's diary. Same goes for her diary on Seed, not to mention as before Seed is the rated version. Sounds like this set is actually kind of a downgrade on all counts. I might sell it and re-acquire the Chucky Collection for cheap.

Also, are the first five minutes of Child's Play 2 supposed to be windowboxed? I don't remember that on the old DVD...
