Self ban request
In news that will make many here with joy, I've decided I spend far too much time here.
Total Posts: 27,415 (9.27 posts per day)
Still a far cry from twikoff (68,431 (25.49 posts per day--double ), but it's still too much.
I view the site 95% of the time for work during breaks which makes it seem not so bad, but I still probably end up spending an extra hour or so at work (salaried position) every day due to goofing here rather than buckling down, and I rather have those extra hours to do other things. And it's been killing my focus with Ph D comp studying today in the office, so it's time to step away.
I've tried to back down before, but I'm weak and I just can't quit you DVD Talk!
So I just need to force myself to cut it out cold turkey, and having the account closed is the easiest way to go.
Any chance it can be closed and the title changed to "Retired" ?
At any rate, I bid you adieu, and thanks to Geoff, the current and former mods, and the current and former members who made this site an enjoyable place to visit the past 8 years!
Take care everyone!

Hell, I'll add in the stipulation that it is to remain retired and cannot be reopened even upon request from me.

Good lord show a little self control will ya? See a shrink. You're not getting banned by asking politely. You need to go out in a blaze of glory!*

WOW-SAKE!!!
Just when I thought I'd heard it all!
That's kinda like walkin' out on your ENTIRE family!
(...even those that actually like and or Love you!)
Although I personally don't understand all the 'facts' behind this decision (...or how anyone could possibly find a spot under the Sun better than DVD Talk when it comes to this type of website and the vast information it provides, not to mention all the intelligent, wonderful & talented wise guys & gals here, and for one reason or another not want to be a life-long partaker in all of this, 'Thrilling InterAction', simply boggles my wee little pea-brain...), I can respect a guy's choice to do what a guy believes he's gotta do, as long as he doesn't injure himself or others, that is...
So, for what it's worth...
Here's Wishing, 'Happy Trails', & only the Very Best of Everything Life has to offer, to you & the ones you Love, Joshua Hinkle.
But talk about yer passing:
'The Point of No Return...'
-THEEK!, INDEED!

Wow, I cannot ever imagine doing this. I would have nothing to do at work!

On the other hand, I had no idea you posted late much so maybe a break is long overdue. Good luck in your endeavors!
