Best Action Movie of All-Time?

Prompted by the new Entertainment Weekly list that puts Die Hard (the original, the R rated ONE) at #1 (I don't have the full list handy).

It was funny listening to Bruce Willis on Access Hollywood last night gloss over the PG-13 issue by saying to Maria Menunos "Did you think that was a PG-13 movie?" and her response was a resounding "not at all".

He still says the full "Yippee..." line is in tact which is fine I guess, but I am let done by the whole rating thing and may not see as a result, but that is a whole other thread.

What do you think is the #1 of all-time?

I would have to agree with Die Hard absolutely!

Raiders Of the Lost Ark. Or is that more adventure?

No argument (As far as American action goes)

Hard-Boiled (Being my international favorite) would be my 2nd runner-up.

HB was in the top 20, which is prompting me to watch it for the first time tonight possibly. Raiders was I think #4.

Could be. I know Aliens was #2.

One of my favorites is another JC in The Abyss. I would deem it as action, but the list did not include it. I just know I was on the edge of my seat and gasping 1st time I saw it.

Do they include sci-fi action movies like the Terminators? If so, then Terminator 3 should be at least in the top 5, if not #1.

I think it's not so much action in the sense of an action movie. It has more suspense than action.

I agree with Hard Boiled. And I give a nod to Ong Bak.

I'd have to agree with Die Hard, but I'm also a sucker for the testosterone-overload 80's flicks like Commando and Rambo II.

Only the dweebs at EW (whose "all time" lists always seem to be made by 20-somethings) would leave "The Great Escape" totally off the list.

You realize that they only picked Die Hard as #1 so they could tie that in with the article about the new Die Hard movie, right?

Agreed. And I was about to give them points for including Point Blank, until I saw I'd misread it and it was really Point Break...
