Seller started auction at a very reasonable price of $7.50. The buyer from Italy came in and bid a high max bid and the buyer from France beat out the max bid. We have a bidding war for the steelbook DVD! The buyer from Italy has bid and recently won the Hannibal steelbook before for $39 USD. Since they are overseas buyers they probably think this is some very rare deleted OOP DVD.They must truly love this movie and want it for the steelbook packaging alone.
If only they had better price searching habits on ebay!

Isn't it kind of the whole point of auctions. People get caught up in the auction 'moment' and pay more than they might elsewhere.
eBay can be a great place for bargains, but you have to do your homework. And yes, there are sellers that don't play fair and will have 'friends' drive up prices if there seems to be an interested buyer, but only one.
