Anybody familiar with the Terminator double-features?

Hi all, I'm troubling over version differences here. Two double-features caught my eye:

Terminator/Robocop double-feature
T2/Total Recall double-feature

But I keep finding conflicting information on these with every new website I check, I can't figure out the specifications of these double-features. Now the Terminator/Robocop double-feature seems to be really good for its price ($11) and I don't really see a drawback for the cost, but I'm especially troubling over the T2/Total Recall one ($8).

Do both of these have two discs each, one for each movie? Aside from general specifications, I'm also interested in whether you guys think I should buy the T2: Extreme Edition and just forget about Total Recall (which I've never seen, this would be $3 cheaper) or if I should get that double-feature with both. As far as I can tell, the double-feature has the 153-minute extended cut of the movie.

Anyway, if anybody has either of these double-features or is knowledgeable about them and can give me a recommendation to grab or avoid them, I'd be grateful.

As far as I know all of Sony's double-features contain two discs, so the Terminator/Robocop one should have individual DVDs. However, with the 25th Anniversary Steelbook of Robocop coming out and the fact that the Terminator DVD inside likely has no features, it seems like kind of a rip-off to me.

I don't know about Lionsgate but the picture quality on the Extreme Edition is great. And I didn't like Total Recall, so there's my answer.

in general, i don't ever look at special features, so i usually don't like to spend extra money on them. additionally, i don't think there's a version of the original Terminator out with a good selection of special features, i think there's only the standalone 1-disc versions.

But is out-of-print. Not hard to find, though. A nice SE.

I have the Terminator/Robocop double feature. If your wanting special features for either movie then these aren't the dvds to get. The Terminator is just the movie itself, same with Robocop. Sony took away the special features from the previous SE of Terminator and just repackaged the movie with disc art for this set.

According to DVDSpot the UPC for the SE is 027616854735

Which DD has listed on their site, but doesn't call it a SE. Amazon also has a SE listed on their site but the picture shown is the barebones version.

Ah yes, this thing--apparently the same UPC but barebones edition? I bought the re-release in '04, expecting the SE, based on Amazon's specs, but got the new barebones. Complained to Amazon, got them to take it back and refund me. They did update the listing, but now it's back to SE specs, which is wrong. Damn fools.

I have the barebones edition and would like to upgrade, if the price were right. I still don't understand why they would go back to the barebones edition. Is it a single layer disc compared to a dual layer? If so does it really cost that much more?

I found the special edition a while back at circuit city expecting what you just said, a dual layer disc. But it's actually a flipper with the movie on a dual layer side and the extras on a single layer side. So, i'm guessing that it is saving them a fair amount of money to just remove the second side of the disc.
