On A&E now get 24 the Complete Season 4 for only 69.99. What a bargain!!! I thought I would start this thread so people could post "bargains" that are real laughers. Hell, you can get the whole 24 Series (minus the toilet bowl season 6) for twenty bucks less than that at Best Buy.

I know DD has their prices a bit higher as well, but really, its not the lack of that sale, IMHO, just that the rest of the stores are running great deals.

It used to be that release week was always THE week to buy. That's when the price was the lowest, and it wouldn't get lower for a year or more.
But now, it seems prices come down within weeks or a month or so. When Big came out, it was well over $10, with a regular price of $14.99 at BBuy. This week, it's on sale for $9.99, a much more palatable buy for me. Seems to happen quite often now.
P.S. I hope this doesn't turn into yet another argument over the 20 percent off sale. We've done that. Any who want to continue should do it in a thread for such, not here.

I am pretty scared to buy from anywhere now... except maybe Columbia House. They have so many sale code glitches there, it's hilarious. Examples include getting the Gladiator 3-disc for $4.95.
As for titles that CH doesn't carry (Fox, Disney, etc.), you really have to shop around these days or be very, very patient. I bought the aformentioned Big EE for $12.88 and now it's part of that 2 for $20 sale and you get a free $5 gift card when you buy two titles... grrr...

I was in a Pamida discount store while on the road (somewhere in KY or TN) last summer and browsed the electronics section.
They had VHS tapes for $24.95! Made me wonder how they could get by with calling themselves a discount store.

DDD's deals are better than they used to be ... but not if you wait for the 20% off sale. A couple of months back they had 2/1 on TV sets -- I picked up 4 @ $9. Ditto the recent Fassbinder sale. I haven't bought much during the sale ... but I bought much, more more than I used to in the preceding 3 months.

Seems to be running about 85% in our favor.
I'm going to try tonight.

I always get a chuckle at Fye's in the mall. New release dvds are like 35 bucks. They charge full MSRP. Are there really that many morons paying almost double for these dvds?

Yes - it is crazy! Everytime I am browsing one of those type stores like FYE, Suncoast, Sam Goody, etc., someone is always buying something or MANY things at MSRP and saying Woo Who!, especially if it was "on sale" at 10% off with their Backstage Pass.

I remember the first video tape I bought...99.99 back in the day!

I always get a kick out of it when BB lists new DVDs "on sale" when the sale price is the exact price they (overcharge) you for regularly. I thought the point of a sale price was that you were saving money?
