Why does this forum lock up all the time?

At least 4 times a day. Usually after I hit "submit post". It happens on multiple computers at multiple locations. I can go to the homepage but I can't go to any of the forums from the dropdown box. I usually have to go to another site for a few min and then keep trying www.dvdtalk.com until it finally works. What the hell is wrong with this place? I know it's not on my end. I don't have these problems as frequently anywhere else. Not daily.

Forums been having those issues for ages. Seems like it's just a bit to busy for the servers at times.

I've been getting the lock ups more than usually the past couple of days though, also usually when submitting a reply.

I've noticed a few freezeups when opening a new page or viewing a thread, in my case the slowdown is intermittent and related to the ad server, I think.

Happens to me all the time to. Everything will be fine and responsive and then it's like a switch is flipped and the server doesn't respond at all for a minute or 2 and then it's back working normally again. It seems like a threshold is reached on the server well before it actually gets slow.

Hey! I was just gonna post a thread about this today!

Howdy, raven!

You know, I've thought that it was that too, but if I try and load another site (from my favorites), they load in no time, so I know it's not that. (At least on 'my' end.)

I'd even be willing to chip in and actually PAY-CASH-MONEY if that would help to stop it Once & For All.

(Oh & BTW: Thanks, Mo! )

I've gotten used to it over the past year or two. Annoying as it is, it obviously won't drive me away, lol.

It locks up when The Edit King gets a little too excited - It drives Geoff nuts but he's learned to live with it.
