Question about purchasing through different stores at Amazon
There's an item at Amazon that I am thinking about buying but Amazon isn't actually selling it- it's sold by another store, through Amazon's website.
My question is this: If I buy this item, is my credit card information given to that other company, or does it stay with Amazon?

Amazon Payments transfers the amount you indicate but never passes along your full credit card information. Such credit card information is kept strictly confidential, just between you and Amazon.com. Please note that if you order from one of a few select merchants, we will provide the merchant with the last four or five digits of your credit card number for identification purposes.

I believe your credit card information stays with Amazon, and is not given to the other store. I would imagine the transactions are handled like they are at Half.com. When a purchase is made the seller is notified by email they made a sale by Amazon with the person's shipping information. The seller then ships the item to the address given by the buyer, and waits for Amazon to issue them a payment for the sale minus commision fees. There is no reason for Amazon to give out your credit card information to another party for a purchase.
I've made many purchases from other stores and individuals at Amazon and the charges appear as an Amazon purchase on my credit card statement. Also if you do a purchase dispute it is through Amazon to get a refund if the seller is avoiding you if there is a problem.
