Jericho renewed for at least 7 episodes next season

According to Michael Ausiello, Jericho is very close to getting at least an 8 episode renewal for mid-season.

I've said in the past that all this fuss about sending letters and nuts and whatever was a waste of time. I'm not too proud to now say that it looks like I was wrong. And boy does it feel good to (potentially) be wrong.

I'll take it as well. now would we get a conclusion for the show or would they possibly try shooting for a season 3?

That would be a mistake. Best thing to do is to resolve the "why" and the battle with New Bern and if a S3 is possible, make it about moving on from those events forward.

I think this rumor of 8 episodes could be a test run to see if the show deserves more. Until CBS makes an official statement on this rumor, it's a wait and see basis.

Cool. Hope it works. I'd really like to get some sort of conclusion.

I'm not a fan of the show (yet, waiting for DVDs) but this announcement is great news!

This is the best news (although still rumor) I have heard in a long time. I have been so disappointed that every show I start to watch and enjoy gets canceled. Let's hope they actually give Jericho a chance this time.

you know, wouldn't this be dirty if this was just CBS' way of getting the nuts deliveries to stop?

Wow! This is cool. At the very least it would be nice to get closure. I liked the first couple of episodes then almost stopped watching but liked it after the winter break. Still could get better (I hate the score for one) but I'd like to see it get a chance beyond 8 episodes as well.

It really reminded me of Invasion in that respect... started off really slow which turned off a lot of the viewing audience (including major subplots around the most useless teen characters) only to pick up the pace once everyone stopped watching, then ending on a cliffhanger before getting cancelled. While the show never really lost its cheesiness, the rapid pace at the end there made it really interesting.

Here's hoping the next series can learn from this: make it exciting from the beginning, and don't have stupid teenager subplots.

wow i really hope this ends up being true! I was bored Sunday afternoon and the season finale of Jericho was on Comcast on demand in HD so I rewatched it. Really enjoyed it even the second time around and was bummed out again of it's doom. Hopefully this is true and it gets good ratings! I know i will definitely be tuning in if true!!

Not to put a damper on this party, but I'll believe it when I see it.

I hope they show 4 episodes, then take it off for 2 months, then show 4 more - that's a sure fire recipe for success.

When th show got canned, I decided not to waste time by watching the last four episodes! I'm going to have to dig them up somewhere now.

This is why I say the Neilson ratings are BS. Almost everyone I know watches this show - and the Joe 6Packs I know are the biggest fans, yet this show pulls no ratings. I knew no one personally that watched AD, and I only know 1 person that watches Lost. Perhaps their polling methods are no longer valid - no matter how much stataticians tell us that it is accurate.

I don't know what the need is for Neilson boxes anymore. With the # of households with cable, dish and DTV, isn't there a more accurate way to measure viewership?
