FOX RAMPS UP 'LOOP' BURN OFF
By Brian Ford Sullivan (TFC)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- FOX has bumped up the return date of "The Loop" and plans to burn off all 10 episodes from its second season in just 27 days.

Things kick off on Tuesday, June 5 at 8:30/7:30c followed by airings on Sundays at 8:30/7:30c and 9:30/8:30c on June 10, June 17, June 24 and July 1. An additional installment is slated for Tuesday, June 12 at 8:30/7:30c.

Following said airings, "'Til Death" repeats will assume the Tuesday, 8:30/7:30c slot on June 19 while "American Dad" repeats will plug the 8:30/7:30c and 9:30/8:30c slots on Sunday nights starting July 15. (A repeat of the feature "The Lost World: Jurassic Park 2" pre-empts the network's entire Sunday lineup on July 8.)

While "The Loop" didn't make the cut for the 2007-2008 season, co-star Bret Harrison can be found as the lead on the CW's new drama "Reaper."

I didn't want this to get lost in an existing Loop thread.

Why on Earth does Fox renew shows just to kill them? How does that make sense?

I'll check it out because what I saw of season one had some promise.

Fuck FOX.

They created two of the greatest American sitcoms of the past few years -- Arrested Development and this show -- just to cancel them shortly afterwards.

Arrrrgh.

As a result of the change, FOX will shift "The Loop's" previously announced Tuesday airings (June 5 and June 12) to Sundays at 7:30/6:30c on June 24 and July 1. The news means that "The Loop" will air at 7:30/6:30c, 8:30/7:30c and 9:30/8:30c on said nights. (Regular 7:30/6:30c occupant "King of the Hill" then will move to 7:00/6:00c on those two nights.)

I just added it back to my TiVo, but I have a feeling that the schedule will change yet again (this is the second update about the show's placement in a week).

Seriously, with the way Fox has been dicking around this show for the past year or two, they should just burn off the episodes over 2-3 nights and be done with it (similar to how the final episodes of Arrested Development were treated). I know they at least have the decency to air the final episodes, but seriously. The show was cancelled, the cast and crew have moved on, let's just air the final episodes for the twelve of us who actually watched it the first time around and be done with it.

Bumped because it's airing tonight (2 episodes 8:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. EDT).

(Ooops, didn't see new thread started for tonight's episodes before posting this post.)

Gawd, loving the addition of Diora Baird to the cast.

I love this first episode. Darcy's R2D2 was hilarious. Funny stuff.

You sure that's her? (had to look up who she is). Don't see it mentioned on IMDB

Yes, that's her, it listed her in the end credits, plus I'd recognize that sumptuous rack anywhere...

This was the first episode that I've seen. That chick is super hot, but this show is not funny.

Just hearing Philip Baker Hall yell "Thesis!" produced a chuckle out of me. It's good to see these episode being aired, even though it's a lame duck show.

Sam hopped up on steroid - at least Bret Harrison commits totally to the scenes, he was out of control with those roid-rage moments.

It only took them 2 episode to get Diora into a bikini.

I noticed the MGM drive as well, but loved the episodes, the first one more than the 2nd.
The addition of Derek was great. but I miss the other room mate, not the blonde.
