As a "well" voter, my assessment is that the fall arc was slow. I welcomed it, but it's clear others hated it. The spring episodes have been solid or better. I'd say it's about as good as S2 but not quite as good as S1 on the whole.
As to the Heroes thing, I don't get the need to compare the two. It would be like insisting on comparing The Shield to Nip/Tuck if you ask me. While there may be some things in common, the two are different shows with different aims.

Also, there was some glitch (the forum was lagging or it was my computer - either one), so the poll choices got messed up. I've reported it to a mod and hopefully they'll straighten it out. which is why i've held my vote...

Interesting Pre-finale article. I don't think it has any spoilers.

I voted that it started off slow and then got better. And I'll definitely be back next season unless tonight's finale is even worse than Season 1's.
The fall mini-season was a disaster. Jack, Kate, and Sawyer stuck in cages, Eko being prematurely offed which rendered the entire Tailies arc of Season 2 meaningless, and the constant cutting back and forth each week between the Others and the main camp was annoying.
Things were still slow when it came back in February, but after a few weeks it really started to pick up. Now I'm almost back to eagerly anticipating Lost every week. Hell, they nearly made me feel bad about Charlie's supposed impending doom last episode and I can't stand that character.
As for comparing it to Heroes, I don't think that's entirely unfair. Both are serialized dramas with large ensemble casts that deal with fantasy elements(plus Greg Grunberg is in both). I do however think comparing Heroes' first season to Lost's 3rd isn't right. Better to compare their respective first years. And in that scenario, Heroes comes out on top. Both had lackluster season finales, but overall Heroes had a much more consistent run and has me geeked for next season whereas I was really close to quitting on Lost after they ended their year with Locke and Jack looking down the hatch.

Very interested to see if the leaked spoilers are legit or not.
Me too. Based on the spoilers I read for last weeks episode - which were on the same site as the spoilers for the finale, it looks like they are legit.
Damn I wish I hadn't read them!! Damn you spoilers!!

I voted 'Started out slow, got better. Will be back next season.' The fall arc was very annoying and just odd. The cliffhanger was awful as well. But, the last two months Lost has been pretty good week after week. IMO, it's also been better than season 2.

Started off slow as hell, then got better. These last 5 have been above average for sure. I hope the trend continues tonight. Either way, I'll be back for next season.

I actually liked a majority of the Fall arc (a couple duds), and the only real dud of an episode since its return has been the series low "Stranger in a Strange Land", the show has been in top form outside of that and the two obvious fillers (Tricia Tanaka is Dead and Expose, both of which I enjoyed but were obvious fillers).
So overall, about 75% kickass, that's a pretty high average for any season of any show in my book I've enjoyed it a good deal more than I enjoyed season 2 which seemed stuck in limbo for a majority of the season.
So I voted for the obvious, Can't Wait!!
On a side note, I felt Heroes was a well thought up but poorly executed for its first season, there were numerous highs but far too many lows for me to really praise it. Maybe if I saw it on DVD like I saw the first season of Lost (which coincidentally made me think the season finale was fantastic, but thats could have been because it was 1 day before the start of season 2), but as it stands, it just doesn't compare in terms of entertainment or quality.
