FOO FIGHTERS: The Colour and the Shape [Expanded Edition] -7/10/07
Foo Fighters Expand Second Album For Reissue
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of its sophomore album, "The Colour and the Shape," Foo Fighters will release an expanded edition of the project July 10 via Legacy/RCA.
In addition to the original album on its first disc, the new version will feature covers of Killing Joke's "Requiem," Gary Numan's "Down in the Park" and Gerry Rafferty's "Baker Street," plus the B-sides "Drive Me Wild," "Dear Lover" and "The Colour and the Shape."
"The Colour and the Shape" remains arguably the band's most popular album, having spawned the Modern Rock evergreens "Everlong" (No. 3), "My Hero" (No. 6), "Monkey Wrench" (No. 9) and "Walking After You" (No. 12). It was the band's lone studio album to feature drummer William Goldsmith, who was replaced by Taylor Hawkins for the Foos' next effort, 1999's "There Is Nothing Left To Lose."
As previously reported, the band is back in the studio with "Colour" producer Gil Norton for the follow-up to 2005's "Skin and Bones." The Dave Grohl-led group will take a break from recording to play a few shows this summer, including a June 23 opening slot for the Police in Los Angeles and July 7 at Live Earth in London

I was bummed when they scrapped the re-release's but am really glad they're going ahead with this one... easily in my top 5 favourite albums of all time...and might actually sit at the top of that list...can't wait for this.

Sweet lord, I can't believe it's been 10 years since this came out. It seems like just yesterday I was rocking out to Everlong. Actually it probably was yesterday!

The upcoming Foo Fighters reissue of The Colour and The Shape (1997) will be completely remastered and will contain 6 bonus songs, four of which have been previously unreleased in the US. Those songs include "Requiem," "Drive Me Wild," "Down in the Park," "Baker Street," "Dear Lover," and "The Colour and the Shape." It will be augmented by a 20-page booklet with new liner notes and photos.

I couldn't find it at the best buy I stopped at...the guy looked at me funny and looked it up and said "looks like we didn't get it, and we don't have it on order"...
