I agree, I think he's a bad casting choice even though I engoyed him in "Go" and "Scream 2". Vin Diesel or Jason Strathem are ideal in this type of role.

Is this based on the Ennis comicbook?

Yeah, looks like the site took down the pics. Sorry guys. For those that didn't see it, he does not look good as the charcter. He looks like a kid going trick or treating as the "Hitman".

Found em

Also, Timothy Olyphant fucking rocks. Do not let the pictures fool you, go out and rent Deadwood Season 1-3, I believe he will nail the part.

edit - he also is the latest villian in the upcoming Die Hard movie, have read he is one, if not the best Die Hard villian to date.

Agreed. He ALWAYS looks different when no on camera. It's really strange actually.

He doesn't fit, but the fact that it's not directed by Uwe Boll means it actually has a chance.

I can't believe they didn't go with Jason Statham. It's just mindboggling.

I like Timothy Olymphant and will give him a chance but I agree Statham would've been the better choice...

Olyphant rocks, but he just doesn't look right to me. I'll reserve judgment until I see the movie though. Statham would have been a great choice...

I think we'd all agree that Tim is just not "rough around the edges" enough for this role. He plays "sneaky and slimy" better than he plays "macho and tough". Heck, even his Bullock on DEADWOOD seemed a little shady.

Add me to the list of those people who thinks he doesn't look quite right bald. Who knows, maybe that opinion will change. I wonder if people said the same about Michael Rosenbaum when Smallville first came out. For all I know, he really is bald.

I thought he projected some real menace in THE GIRL NEXT DOOR.

I am actually interested in this. I like Timothy Olyphant and think that he really hasn't been given a great role to play yet. The closest he came was the drug dealer in Go. I don't think he looks too bad with the shaved head, and i really like the idea that they are taking someone from the left field who you would not expect to play this role. There were names like Vin Diesal being spoken of for this part, but they were the kind of names that you would expect to play this role. I think the story and the action will be the important aspects here in order for the movie to succeed. I think Olyphant will pull the role off.

Funny just reading the posts about Statham. He actually does have the perfect look for the role. The only problem i can see that he has practically played the part already in the two Transporter movies.
