The Hills have eyes 2--->July.17th, 2007

The Hills have eyes 2 will be released on July.17th, 2007 by FOX home entertainment with 2 opinions: Rated or Unrated editions.

Available in separate Rated and Unrated editions (both 89mins and $29.98 SRP) the former is almost barebones, presenting the film in both Widescreen and Full Screen on a flipper disc with English DD5.1 Surround, French and Spanish Dolby Surround plus English and Spanish subtitles. The only extras are a making-of featurette and trailers.

The Unrated is the must by vr, which will include way more features.

Can't wait to pick this up for a crappy horror flick cheap thrill.

I've heard absolutely horrible things about this flick from just about everywhere. I'll still get it on DVD so I could check it out and fulfill my completist needs, but I'm not anticipating having a blast with this one. They really should just offer the unrated and not risk wasting money on a lesser version that certainly won't sell as well.

Horror films are just about the only properties that I do not feel the completist urge to get every film in the series, just because any good horror film automatically gets one if not multiple inferior sequels. The Hills Have Eyes remake was good, and I think I'll stop there.

It wasnt as good as the first but i enjoyed it enough to buy it. Why are both 89 mins long? Unrated should be much longer.

I too was hoping for more than just a few extra seconds of added gore.

Fango noted that the director dropped some expository prologue footage, guess it wasn't worthy to be reinstated for the unrated version, or even included for the supplementary section

I had forgotten about that, but recall reading it as well. Shame it's still going to be omitted.

Hopefully the few seconds of gore will be worth it. It was a bloody mess in the R version already. Hope they make one more just so we can have more mutants and carnage.

I'm a fan of the remake and the original, and I thought this movie was terrible.

I would suggest renting it before buying it.

I probably won't pick this up, but will give it a rent. I didn't really care for this when I watched it in the theater, but maybe I'll enjoy it more at home.

I'm all for crappy horror flicks that entertain with loads of cheese, but this had to be one of the worst I've ever seen. I'm a completeist. I own most crappy sequels my favorite franchises churn out, but this one was not even entertaining on any level.

I loved the remake, but will rent this one. Reviews weren't kind at all. The premise looked pretty good, but I'm sure the lack of having Alexandre Aja directing probably hurt alot.

Out in stores now. Anyone seen it? Does it come with a slipcover?

Tend to like these kinds of movies, but can't see paying $17 for what nearly everyone agrees is crap. Maybe sometime within the next twelve months, when it will likely be in a "2 for $20" sale.

It has a slipcover. I picked it up yesterday. Too bad it didnt have the blood cover like the first. It has some okay extras but nothing to write home about.

Since I first posted in this thread I had a chance to check the second part in a theater. I must say it was one of the very few films I was falling asleep on. Just as the first part was innovative and in your face, the second came out to be boring and warmed-over. Still may buy it just to have it on my shelf.

Yeah, it was too bad that this one didn't have the cool blood cover that the remake DVD had. Oh well I bought it & I'm lookin' foward to seeing for myself just how bad this movie really is. The main reason I bought it is because I'm a completest more than anything.

Maybe seconds were cut, with less than a minute total? Then one version can be 90 mins, another - 90 mins 55 secs...
