Badboys Movies

What do you guys think is better, badboys 1 or 2?

My vote is on 1. I think the script was very bad in part II , making both actors look like ignorant people. Some of the things which i didnt like was well the beginning, with the KKK. What was the whole point of that?

And the action was just lame compared to part 1. Also, once again people need to add the right type of music for the right movie. You guys remember that great drama music at the beginning of the movie? I love that. Part II, all i heard was rap = lame.

Btw, the worst part in badboys II. OMG, the use of the N word was too much, that whole part was not funny. Score = 4/10.

I actually preferred the second one. I thought the action sequences were more interesting, as I am a sucker for anything in slo-mo. Also, Henry Rollins was in the second one. Case closed

While the movie is overlong, Bad Boys II is the be all and end all of gratuitous action movies. The excesses of another flick are the excesses of a single scene in Bad Boys II. I maintain that there is literally $1,000 worth of something on screen every single second of the movie. Dead bodies roll, cars bounce along the highway, trillions of bullets are fired, everything concievable blows up (including the villain), two mansions, a funeral home, an office building and an elevated train get destroyed, hot women occupy every frame and in case that isn't enough, the movie wrecks an entire town with a brand-new Hummer in the last 20 minutes, just to make sure you got your money's worth.

I experimented recently with editing the flick down a little but I didn't get very far. Cutting the uselessly repeated exposition and the lamer jokes could easily drop the movie from 147m to 120. If you were partiuclarly rutheless you could probably get it down to 105. But it is the most indulgent piece of big budget Hollywood entertainment I have ever seen.

I loved both of them equally but I would have to say that 1 was better than 2 just by a little bit, but both movies were great & i wonder if they are ever going to make a third one?

Neither movie is a great action flick, but I liked the second one better.

Wow. I can't believe what I'm hearing. 1 was great, while 2 was one of the worst movies I have ever seen.

1 is much funnier, IMO. 2 had some decent action sequences, but neither movie works very well as an action flick. They are more comedies in my eyes. Thus I'd go with 1 as the better movie based on the comedy aspect.

For buddy-cop movie, 1 seemed fresh.

I felt two was long-in-the-tooth and seriously one of the most grotesque mainstream movies I had ever seen. One reason was the use of corpses as action props during the car chase just seemed in poor taste. I realize its an over-the-top action flick, but they couldn't come up with anything better than that?

I enjoy both but would put 2 over 1. It was just...bigger...and had more *whoa* moments. I especially liked the shootout at the jamaican house where the camera spins around from room to room.

I think there could have been one more great shootout if they had done something with the russian armed to the teeth going in solo to the cuban mansion. he comes in all riled up and then killed right away. ah well.

If Michael Bay trimmed around 25-35 minutes out of the sequel, it would've easily been one of the greatest mainstream action films ever made.

I agree wholeheartedly.

Because of the volume of good stuff in Bad Boys 2, I'd have to choose it as the better action movie... although its close. The original Bad Boys is better than the sum of its parts but Bad Boys 2 had more good parts. However, 2 is far too long and there are some superfluous scenes, stale racially centered humor and tonal shifts that threaten to sink it were it not for the abundance of action and violence.
Fundamentally, the Will Smith character almost seems like a different person in the sequel as if his character suddenly transformed into a posturing "bad ass." This culminates in the worst scene of the film where they pull a gun on the daughter's date. That was way out of line and almost derailed the entire film for me.

You know if anyone is a big badboys fan like myself, you might wanna check out the game. Its one of the best action games that ever came out on xbox and the pc, which i own both of them. I completed the xbox version twice and i completed the pc version 3 times.

Why do i keep completing badboys? Well the game has a ton of things to unlock, and everything you finish the game, you can unlock something. Only thing wrong with the game, the pc version didnt come with any editor tools, so i can mod the game and add some extra stuff in the game.

Xbox Version = 10/10
Pc Version 9/10

Here is a review:

Despite the awful reviews, the game is near perfect. People just different opinons , thats all.

I'm a huge fan of the first movie - and I barely remember a thing about the second, except that it was too long and had a bunch of scenes that made me uncomfortable for a variety of reasons.

I've never had a desire to see it again.

Bad Boys 2.

Action is sick.
Gun fights are over the top and crazy.
Shit was funny.
Gabrielle Union
Dan Marino
One of the best car chases in movie history.

Tea Leoni circa 1995 with dark hair, wearing a pleated mini skirt, wielding a gun 'Nuff said.
Fixed

I will co-sign that.

I enjoy them both.

1 was fun because Smith and Lawrence worked well off each other, it was short enough to be mindless entertainment, however, the switching roles plot was stupid and the action was fairly low budget and unimpressive.

2 was good because it had some of the best action scenes I've ever seen (the freeway chase, the jamaican shootout, the Hum-V blowing through shanty town, etc.) However it loses points for being about 40 minutes too long, having the fun loving, comedic duo hating each other for much of the movie was a bad choice, and many of the set pieces were too morbid and distasteful to be appearing in a "fun" action movie...

I loved the first.
The second is the only Bay film I actually hated. (Yup, I rank it WAY below Pearl Harbor.) I wanted to love it but it was so awfull even the action sequences bored me as they were all way too long and repetetive.
