Wow, a two-disc set with Lynch's participation?
The movie must've done *really* bad if he's actually stepping up and trying to help it sell better that way. What's next, chapter stops?

great news and i cant wait to see this again, a masterpiece IMO.
i assume this will be the US cut that was shown here in theaters. imdb lists 2 longer running times, one a little longer for the UK and a much longer one for Poland. i think the US version was his preferred version but i would love to see the longer version released somewhere. im still trying to find more information on these longer versions but cant seem to find any.
as for doing *really* bad, i dont think that has anything to do with it. i suspect it did as well as Lynch expected it, i sincerely doubt he had any high expectations for such an inaccessible film (for most) like this.

If you liked his three most out-there films, you atleast owe it to yourself to see this. I don't think it was any "thougher" than Lost Highway.
You'll probably be able to pick it up for 20 bucks, and I'm sure the special features are worth it alone. Just watching Lynch speak is always entertaining.
I recommend it, although there is no guarantee you will think it is a masterpiece.
Personally I can't wait to see it again. So many incredible scenes in the film. They still haven't left my mind.

He's referring to the fact that Lynch had in the past repeatedly voiced his dislike for the concept of DVD "extras", and preferred his movies to stand on their own.
What he doesn't like doing are audio commentaries.

He did, however, do a feature-length interview for the Eraserhead DVD, and recorded similar segments for his short films collection.

Is the transfer from film or direct from video? For "The Aristocrats", which was shot on video, the theatrical showings were from film prints made from the video (and looked crappy). The DVD was mastered direct from video and looked much better on TV than it did in theaters (to me anyway).
