Star Trek Colletor Editions?

Are the Collectors Editions the best so far?

Well, if you're talking about the movies, the collectors/directors/special editions are pretty chock full of extras and features. And while they contain transfers that are to some level improved over earlier releases, I've heard that they're not perfect.

Yeah, they're definately the ones to get. The original releases were pretty lame.

I have 6 of the Collector Edition (If you enclude the 1st movie that only had one CE release), and the rest are the original release (1st Contact and Nemesis did not need to be upgraded, the orginal release were already awesome).

I was missing several of the earlier movies, so when the CE movies dropped to 5.99/7.99/9.99 per DVD, I jumped right on it and finished my collection.

I even bought "Insurrection" because it was only $5.99.

I picked up the original cast movies through Columbia House, great way to do it (haven't gotten ST: V yet though). They are better than the old versions; the A/V quality isn't perfect but very good, lots of extras, and the DC of ST: Motion Picture is amazing, in my opinion. Totally worth the prices they can be found for.

Now I just want the new "remastered" versions of the entire original TV series.
