kinda off topic.. I left the Spawn comics between the 2 & 3 years.. when they were doing the stupid cross-overs..
are they worth looking into again?? if so were to start??
I really liked the 1st year
are there any trade paperbacks out there??

Heh, I finally got around to buying the complete animated series back in March from DeepDiscount for $20.34 and still have not opened it. I wonder if I should even open it now or sell it, or if the new release is even worth the bother?

The original release, (oddly enough) was DD5.1 for the first and third season, and second season was DD2.1 (mistake?).
I don't know if this is worth a repurchase because you can literaly find the originals in bargain bins for next to nothing.
Wasn't there talk of doing a new animated series? Could this release be a precursor to that?

DVD Talk Hero
also the old release has flipper discs. Also, since i noticed the word 'episodes' is the format going to be the same for the new release (each season played like a 2.5 hour movie instead of 6 or 7 25 minute episodes.

Resurrecting this thread to report that the commentary for season 1 on the original release is NOT the same as the season 1 disc in the 10th anniversary release. The original release had a full running McFarlane commentary for the whole season, where as the 10th anniversary has a new one just for the first episode.
I've had them both sitting on my shelves and I wasn't sure if I cold get rid of the original DVDs. Looks like I will be keeping at least season 1.
I'll post the findings on season 2 / season 3 as I look at them.
Surprising that this isn't on dvdcompare.net.
