New Interpol Live Videos - "Pioneer" & "Heinrich Maneuver"
Interpol kicked off their tour Sunday night at the Capital Music Hall in Ottawa, debuting some material from their as-yet-untitled record, due out 7/5 on Capitol. Stereogum reader Yiyo clued us in on the grainy YouTube from the show, including this new cut that may or may not be called "Pioneer." Sounds like ... Interpol's got a formula, and they're sticking to it.

Next year will look up if only because it will be a forced year of discovery for me, methinks.

Antics sucked IMO. this is a band that needs to branch out their sound a little bit. it'd be nice for something with similar urgency as the first album.

Antics was a great album, but like another (unrelated) album of its time, Hot Fuzz, it started to really drag near the end.
Thankfully, Interpol released The Back Room (under the pseudonym "Editors") so that kept me satisfied for a bit, although you could tell something was off because it wasn't as good as their regular material.

I just brought TOTBL on a blind buy after a friend recommended Interpol. I have NO idea what this band is like. Can someone tell me who they compare the closest to:
1)New Order
2)U2
3)Depeche Mode
4)The Pixies
5)The Smiths
6)The Cure
7)Pet Shop Boys
8)Duran Duran
9)theThe
10)Simple Minds
...which band above does Interpol resemble the most?

Here are facts the albums title is Mammoth and I should know I have now listen to it 3 times. It's very short running at 34:28mins,seconds (maybe a rush job). Please don't say the joy division tag on them there past that now.And again paul banks singing has change alot(I miss his old singing sound) and Antics is not SHIT Arpeggi.

Sometime in March 2007, an album called Mammoth, attributed to Interpol, appeared on P2P networks. However, the album was actually a renamed copy of Exit Decades, recorded by Swedish band Cut City. Due to some similarities in style between those two bands, this "fake leak" was quite convincing to some listeners.
