Nice list. That was more comprehensive than I expected. Always nice to see Commando get some love.

And here I was thinking, "Dammit, where' Cube?"

This is one of the better "lists" I've seen posted here. Great find, OP!

Those are all damn good, but I don't think any of them can compare to the carnage in the opening scene of Ghost Ship. They must not have seen that movie.

My thoughts exactly. And what a gruesome scene!

And just in case any of you don't know what we're talking about when we mention Ghost Ship:

No Dawn of the Dead '78 = No sale.

[I'm referring to the helicopter blade slicing the top of the zombie's head off in the beginning.]

Yeah, Ghost Ship should have at least made the list, if not be #1. It was so ridiculously over the top! It's also the only thing I remember in the movie.

I think I'd replace Kill Bill with Final Destination.

Damn, I was just going to post that. Any list without that scene is instantly invalid.

Anybody post a comment to see the two bonus scenes? (we've got the firewall from hell at my work.)

The bonus two scenes are from Sin City ("Miho gets her practice in on big, bad Manute") and Blade 2 ("Blade tells Reinhardt to make like a banana and split.")

Someone also mentioned the half-heading on Wrong Turn (I believe it was on Emmanuelle Chriqui). That was pretty good too.

Too bad the rest of Ghost Ship couldn't top those first 5 minutes...

Texas Chainsaw Massacres 2 - the dude in the car, half of his head just slides off and rivets of blood and brain matter spurt out.

and the one in the deleted scenes section where Leatherface bisects the fuck out of this guy's head in mid scream.

There's a pretty good one at the end of 2001 Maniacs.

Remake:
Spoiler:
Just as the final two "survivors" are about to get away, they ride their motorcycle through some razor wire

There's a funny cheap one at the beginning of Bad Taste. I don't know if it's worthy of the top ten, but it sticks out in my mind.
I think the rotorblade zombie combo should probably be #1. My criteria isn't SPFX, though. Just what's classic.

Where was one of these in Final Destination? I haven't seen it in a while. Final Destination 2(?) had a decent one with the barb wire fence.
