Ever lost a DVD
Have you guys ever lost a DVD, complete case and all?
I can't find my copy of the Spiderman 2 gift set. No idea where it could be
It annoys me.

I just went thru by 1500 or so collection to alphabetize it. I found 4 DVDs without cases and 4 cases without DVDs.
Maybe I'll combine them and post interesting ebay sales.

I once lost the Simpsons Season One. It was so weird. Even after going through everything in my house for a move it didn't turn up. It's possible I left it at a friends house or something. Since I'm a Simpsons completest (and a sucker), I bought it again.

Yes. I temporarily misplaced "The Running Man" SE and "Howling III(!)". It turns out they were sitting (unopened) under the seat of my car for about six months. I'd apparently stuffed them there after purchasing and somehow completely forgot.

This baffles me, because I can't imagine where I might have put this set, my spider man 1 gift set is ona shelf, the logical place to put spiderman 2 would have been enxt to it. In fact, the Monty Python gift set I bought the same day as Spidey 2 is right next to Spidey 1. I have normal DVD releases of all 3 of these movies as well, so I never watch them and they are just for display pretty much.
I've even gone through old pictures tring to find out where this could have snuck off too.

I lost (and never found) disc 1 of Minority Report. I still have the Special Features disc though. Eh. I wish I still had disc 1, and could't find disc 2. The way it is now i'll have to rebuy the movie.

I couldn't find my DVD of The Birds for a few weeks. I could have sworn I looked everywhere, but then it shows up a couple days ago in a stack of DVDs.
I blame gnomes.

I lost a Dvd for 2 or 3 years and it really bugged me. I was storing them in my unmovable clothes dresser and I guess I got to many in and when I opened the drawer it fell out the back. I eventually found when I took the drawers out to inspect what was actually in them. It was Prom Night with Linda Blair.

I have disc 1 of the St. Elsewhere first season box set laying on my coffee table, but I have looked all over and I'll be damned if I can find the box it goes in and disc 2 that should still be inside it anywhere!
Did YOU take it?

Seriously though, I just bought a new copy from Amazon.com for $7.50, so luckily, it's not too painful a loss.

Yep, all the time. I have 2300 and shelf space ran out years ago, so now new ones get piled up in the spare bedroom that doesn't have shelves, in the closet, under the bed, etc. The older stuff on the shelves are alphabetized, but the newer ones aren't so it's tough to find anything, but the most recent ones.

I have done this a few times... I posted in an old version of this thread about losing Disc 3 of Season 1 of Deep Space 9. It was missing for over a year, I looked EVERYWHERE for it, checked every DVD case I owned multiple times. Then a few weeks ago I found it in the Star Wars Episode II case. How I missed it before, I have no idea, but I'm glad I finally found it. I actually have all seven seasons of the show (purchased with my brother) and I haven't seen any of them because I lost Disc 3 before finishing it. So maybe now that I have it I'll start bring them to work to watch during my lunch hour or something (it will only take 179 business days!). Ugh.
Less worrisome, I have no idea what happened to my copy of Barbershop. I only have it because the deluxe two-pack witht he sequel and some other crap was on sale at Wal-Mart for $8.88 a few years back. I opened the outer slipcase but don't remember ever looking at the discs themselves, and the Barbershop case was empty when I opened it (maybe five months later? I have too many DVDs).
I also briefly lost Play It Again, Sam before finding it in the Foul Play case. The funny part is, I never finished all of PIAS and I never watched any of Foul Play.
This post is making me sad. I think I need to sell some DVDs.
