Question re: XBOX 360 Warranty with respect to eBay purchase
Hey all,
Just a quick question. I want to purchase an XBOX 360 off of ebay. If I purchase a brand new, factory sealed one, am I still eligible for Microsoft's warrranty. I know you need a receipt as proof or warranty, thus I was wondering if a paypal or ebay invoice would suffice?
Thanks for the help!

When I worked for Sony, the warranty was only valid if the item was purchased from an actual retailer. Purchasing something from an individual off ebay can be considered a third party, meaning the seller could have done something with it regardless of what is in the listing. If the seller has an actual company, then it should be fine.

i bought mine from craig's list.
Microsoft somehow knows when the item was purchased.
when I call them up, they had a date of purchase associated with the serial number. you can dispute the date if you have a receipt.
You can also look at the manufacturing date on the back of the console to get a rough idea of when the item was purchased too.
