Need Suggestion for DVDs that "autostart"

Hoping there is still someone up that can help me. Lately, I haven't been able to sleep too well. The only thing that helps, besides a glass of wine (lol lol lol), is if a movie is playing.

My problem is that I wake up as soon as the movie goes back to the main menu. Does anyone have any suggestions for any movies that continuously run? The only one that I know of so far is:

The Maltese Falcon

Anyone know of other ones?

You can try a-b repeat for the entire movie. Some playes let you do a chapter playlist as well, that might be able to repeat

You wake up because there's LESS sound when the movie ends and the menu pops back up? Or is the problem that the menu has louder or more noticeable sound (like the Buffy or BTTF menus)?

That's a good suggestion, but I'm playing DVDs on my computer, don't have a player in my bedroom....

Thanks for the suggestion though.

It's not that there is less sound, more like the music from the menu keeps repeating over and over and over. THAT is what wakes me up.

But if the movie just keeps repeating, I stay asleep.

Weird, huh?

Same here - and often the sound on the menu is louder than the film itself, and hearing a piece of music (even from a favorite film) loop over and over again can be quite grating...

What I do is set the sleep timer on my television for as close as I can to the length of the film in order to minimize the amount of time the menu runs as much as possible. Hopefully, you'll be asleep well before the movie ends, so the menu isn't an issue!

I'll try "Analyze This"! If anyone knows any other titles, let me know. Thanks!

The original (non-SE) version of Malcolm X does that. The movie automatically starts up after awhile from the main menu. After the movie is over, it eventually goes back to the main menu and plays it again and again.

Batman Begins autoplays after the menu has been left for a minute or two.

What player are you using on your computer. You should be able to wrangle something good out of any of them.

I also wake up after falling asleep watching a dvd when the movie ends. Same with a cd, vhs tape, etc. Even if the menu is silent and non-animated. I believe it has more to do with sleeping in sync with the tv/cd sound or something. Anybody else ever fall asleep watching a movie and have a dream similar to the movie you're sleeping thru?

A lot of Warner titles seem to do this after 10 minutes on the main menu. I know for certain that Absolutely Fabulous seasons 1-3 repeat in Play All mode after it finishes.

Why not just set a sleep timer instead of wasting electricity while you sleep?

A lot of the Disney DVDs have Fast Play feature, which after a few minutes, start playing the movie.

Harold & Kumar ... has a very, very long (but hilarious) menu sequence. I can't remember if it finally auto starts.

every dvd player i have, including computers have a button for "chapter" or "title" repeat.

I use "title repeat" all the time to loop a movie if i am going to fall asleep while its on.
Just make sure you set title repeat after the movie starts...sometimes the THX logo or the movie studio logo are their own titles on the dvd....don't want to repeat those over and over

For those who asked, I'm using Window Media Center on my computer. I have a Dell Inspiron. It has a "MediaDirect" button, I press it, and my movie starts.

Thanks for all your good suggestions last night, BTW. I decided on "The Big Sleep". For some reason, Bogie's voice was very very soothing. I appreciated all your suggestions about "chapter repeat". I'll try that tonight. Or maybe I'll let Bogie lull me to sleep again tonight.

THANKS!

(BTW - I know that it is a waste of electricity, but it is only for a few more nights, then I can get back to sleep as usual!)

I'm pretty sure Interview With The Vampire does this.
