From Dusk Till Dawn and Kill Bill Special Editions

I read on a JOBLO forum that Quentin and Rodriguez said that we would see the "KILL BILL S.E.'s" and a special edition (hopefully anamorphic) of "From Dusk Till Dawn," before we saw a DVD version of "Grindhouse." I dunno about you guys but I just shot in my pants.

This better be the Kill Bill release we've been waiting for. I'd gladly double-dip for that.

Since Theatrical to DVD is usually 3 months now, they would have make these 2 announced VERY soon.

FDTD has long been a want on my list as long as its finally 16x9. Been waiting for KB so long now that I am not sure if it will be all that exciting unless it has a lot of new footage or been reedited in some interesting way.

I would love to pick up both of these in HD. I don't think I would double dip for a new DVD since an HD version would be neraly assured if they went throught the trouble of making a new DVD version.

It probably won't be the extended version of Kill Bill that we've been waiting for. Tarantino said Vol 1 & 2 would get a theatrical release as one full movie before appearing in home video.

It's likely just Special Editions of the movies separate or in a box set.

i'd rather have the 2 Kill Bill's stitched together or in a box set at least.

Just joking, the OP said Kill Bill and FDTD SE's would be released before the Grindhouse DVD was released but didn't mention when the Grindhouse DVD would be released.

What is the longest Theatrical to DVD length in the last few years. It seems everything is doing the 3-4 month range. I remember A.I. took a somewhat longer time, the same with Eyes Wide Shut.

Robert Rodriguez also "announced" SE's of "The Faculty", "Roadracers" (which was actually officially announced then canceled) and a "Spy Kids" box set (presumably including an SE of the first film, including the never-released-on-DVD "Special Edition" of the film itself from the theatrical re-release) while doing "Sin City" press and they haven't materialized yet.

So don't hold your breath.

I'll believe when I see it. I don't know why it has happened yet. As QT and Rodriquez put a lot of love into their releases.

I'd imagine Grindhouse will be out in September or October for Halloween since both films are horror.

If I can manage to get the day off, I'll try to ask Wednesday and come back with an answer from the horses' mouths.

A question mark in the title would be appreciated until anything is officially announced. From Dusk Till Dawn really needs an anamorphic transfer, so that would be a must buy for me.

I don't know. Actually I find the prospect of a FDTD re-release kind of...I dunno, useful but also wasteful, seeing as really the transfer is all I would change. The full-length doc plus packed movie disc is pretty much a great set otherwise...although I might put the movie on Disc 1 this time to avoid confusion...

I don't understand all the fuss about the long-awaited Kill Bill box set. Just buy the Japan box, it's got all you need: both movies, uncut, with the House of Blue Leaves scene in color, DTS, it's NTSC, (unlike the UK Boxset the other poster is looking at), and it comes in a nicely designed, sturdy slipcase: Kill Bill 1 & 2
