Veronica Mars Canceled.
The day we’ve all dreaded has come, tubers.
With actual tears in my eyes, I must tell you that I’ve heard from several solid sources that the CW has decided not to bring Veronica Mars back for a fourth season.
Though official word has not yet come down from the network, I did hear from creator Rob Thomas earlier this week, who told me things weren’t looking good: “I’ve never been less certain of our fate. I’m afraid I’ve gone from cautiously optimistic to something less than that.”
More on this later. I’m just too distraught to write more right now.

Was it ok to post a thread on this, I don't come into this forum much but i'm sure there are other people who enjoy this show as much as I do.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
I hope this is a early April Fool's joke.
I need Kristen Bell on my TV screen, Dammit!
Maybe one of the other networks can pick it up? Are you listening, NBC? I see that you're going to have a few slots to fill in for next fall.

FUCK!
Sad to see it go for sure, but I am glad we got as many episodes as we did. They should get rid of that awful Gilmore Girls instead, as it has been run into the ground.

Please tell me that this give Rob Thomas and the writers enough time to atleast tweak the final episode into something resembling a series finale or a season finale (or at the veryleast cut-out the cliffhanger that they had to have had planned).

Well, that sucks, but I'm not totally surprised. I was hoping it would get at least one more season to turn things around, but I guess not. Still, it's not like the CW has much else going for it. VM was the one show I'd watch on the network - now it's got nothin'.

Great. So now we don't even get a proper Series Finale and CW can launch some crap shows next year. I hope 7th Heavens gets a 18th season.

And where did it say we won't get a series finale?
They better not screw up the third season on DVD either!

I just e-emailed Mars' main man Rob Thomas for an update [on news of a fourth season], and here's what he wrote back: "We're very much on the fence for a fourth season. My amateur handicapping of our situation - 60/40 in our favor. We are shooting the finale as a season finale - not as a series finale. There will be no alternate. If they do try to get rid of us, we're not going to make it easy for them."

This cancellation really hurts for me. I loved this show since the very first episode and to see it cancelled while other "lesser" shows are still running on CW is a travesty.
However, the writing was on the wall that there wouldn't be a fourth season because of anemic ratings and production costs. I'm glad that we at least got 3 seasons out of it.
Now, just hoping that Rob Thomas is able to change the script for the final episode to give a proper send off to this great show.

I'm so fucking sick and tired of starting a new show only to have it canceled a few seasons into it. I swear, if this shit keeps up I'll just cancel my tv service and just buy dvds.
Ok, I'm done with my angry post now.

AICN Hercules has indicated that Veronica Mars has already filmed and completed the remaining five episodes for this season. So unless Rob Thomas decides to reshoot the final episode, there will be no special series finale for the show.

There’s no official word from The CW, but E!’s Kristin Veitch says she has heard from several sources that “Veronica Mars,” my pick for the best TV series of 2006, will not be back for a fourth season.
The final five completed episodes are set to air in April and May.
