Maximus, Achilles, or King Leonidas...and why?

I think it would be a good fight between them all with Leonidas and Maximus going toe to toe in the end, but i would be hard pressed to pick a winner between them. I think i might give the edge to Leon simply bc Maximus seemed a little more vulnerable.

But i think it would be a good steel cage match between them all regardless.

Achillies was the best Greek fighter ever, period. Being sent, protected by the gods and trained by Chiron the Centaur; Achilles would easily kick both thier asses.

My favorite has always been Ajax but he was unjustly killed of in the movie Troy.

Since this is in "Movie Talk," for Achilles and Leonidas, are we talking about based strictly on their latest film incarnations (Troy, 300), or are we basing this off history and legends? Unless we're doing this from the standpoint of the characters seen in Troy, 300, and Gladiator, Maximus doesn't even belong. So, that being said:

Based on history/legend: Achilles

Based on the recent film characters: Leonidas

My favorite of the three: Maximus

I voted in terms of my favorite character, so in that regard, Gladiator's Maxiumus gets my vote.

My favorite of them would be Maximus, but in a fight i would have to go with Achilles no doubt.

No idea who the Leonidas dude is.

I voted for Maximus just because I preferred Gladiator to the other 2 films, but all 3 are badass in my book!

Weird thread.

If we're going by a mix of historical account/legend, Achilles by a mile.

If we're going by most badass in their respective movies, Leonidas by a mile.

That's the thing though, the 300 is the more 'badass' movie, but Leonidas himself wasn't especially 'badass' in it, the 300 are 'badass' as a unit.

Did you see Troy? My man Achilles would cut down Leonidas before he got to the "is" of "This is Sparta".

Well is it a straight-up mano-ay-mano brawl? Because in that case Achilles should win hands down... but the Spartans don't fight mano-ay-mano. They fight mano-ay-impenetrable fracking phalanx of death, so in this case, I think the question should be, "Who would win in a battle of Achilles Vs. the 300?" In which case, Leonidas and his "personal bodyguard" would take negligable losses and house Achilles.

This is such a pointless conversation, we might as well declare Stuart Little the winner.

What are message boards for if not waxing philosophic about geeky fanboy bullshite that hasn't a practical bit of relevance to anything and never will except in the minds of message board posters?

I mean sure, this debate is no The Frank Miller Challenge! (Sin City or 300) or Scary Movie 5 — Predict the references. (then again, what is?) But come on, mate, it's just a bit of fun.
