Wow. I guess the 6 - 9 months of commercials we'd been seeing paid off handsomely.

Shame Zodiac isn't doing better, that was a very good flick.

I'd been seeing them in my market since about August 2006.

depends if it's front loaded or not. It may be very close with Ice Age.

Wow! It deserves all it makes. If it cost as little to make as "Sin City" did this will be a mega-blockbuster. Shows how far cgi has come and that blockbusters in actual sprawling landscapes isn't always the better for it.
Great to see a niche movie with no names do so great. I loved it and think many will continue to.

These are very impressive numbers (even though they include the midnite screenings on Thurs. night...).
Finally some love for an R-rated film...
It is a shame that Zodiac is bombing because that was a better film IMO and i was more entertained and impressed by it...But 300 is a fine film but isn't anything near Sin City quality...

I wonder how much it would have made if you take away those movie cash tickets given away by Best Buy? I'm thinking it prolly would have made like $10 million on Friday.

Looks like it will be break even by the end of today..
The boxoffice return of 300 is amazing (Hmmm.. has it something to do with the Free Movie Cash from Alexander Revisited DVD or the last Bestbuy Free "300" movie ticket?... how many Bestbuys chain there was? and each store gave away 90 free promo disc and ticket)
