^ I hope Rex narrates again in future episodes. I too had a smile on my face.
All in all, this episode was damn-near perfect, IMO. Gabby got off a great one-liner and I got a good laugh seeing Lynette stranded on the windy, desolate road.

I agree on all counts.
Was Ian dealing the cards when they both basically went all-in? I figured he was cheating.

Yes great balance of everything, though I thought the storyline involving Gabrielle and John Slattery's character was bit of a snooze. Rex taking the reins over Mary Alice was a long time coming. And with Rex doing the DH voiceover, I guess it was time for the men to be a little more catty.
Susan, Mike, Ian - story just went up a few amps. How long until Mike breaks his silence?
Still a bit indifferent to the Austin, Julie, Van de Tramp plot.

There was a time when Rex was going to be the narrator in Season 2, but it was decided to stick with Mary Alice instead. I don't think Rex as Narrator would work every week, but it was a nice change.
If they ever kill off one of the main housewives, I could see them taking over for Mary Alice, whose family isn't a very big part of the show anymore.

In the preview for this episode, it looked like Edie was hooking up with Carlos. Hmm... Nothing like that happened!

I liked the episode except for one detail...
when Rex and Lynette were served coffee in the diner, there was no steam coming from the coffee. It was just a little thing that made it seem like a prop, thus not "real" (I assume the mugs had water - Rex did swallow after taking a sip).

Great episode! I really like where they've taken Carlos and Andrew. During the first two seasons, I hated them with a passion, but they've since done one hell of a 180.

I liked the idea of Steven Culp doing the narration; I just wish he'd been better at it. Hopefully, it's just because it was his first time, and he'll get better if they have him do it again. Loved the episode overall, BTW.
