WOW...what a great episode. this is definitely my new favorite show.
i had goosebumps during the episode. it was well done and acted.
- the julie and parents arguing scenes were well done. it seemed like a typical teenager vs. parents argument.
"whatever."
"whatever?!?!?!"
- "the three of you scare me"
- landry: "tyra and i"
i was waiting for a football game where the refs aren't calling penalties for dillon and a brawl had to happen soon.
what did the guy same to smash before riggins nailed him? and what did smash and mac say to each other after getting off the bus?
i thought it was hilarious when riggins told the jv's they couldn't eat lunch.
great episode. great acting. great show.

I'm speechless... this has got to be the best hour of television I've ever watched. Goosebumps doesn't begin to describe it. I'm stunned.
Nothing on tv right now compares to this show. Not the over the top 24, not there are too many storylines to follow and I can't keep up LOST... nothing.
If this show doesn't get picked up for a second season.. something is very wrong.
Best line of the night: "Who else can I talk to?"
GIVE THEM ALL EMMY'S!

Great episode
The lunch line scene was hilarious. "The whole town hates you, you'll never get laid..."

Mac told Smash that the cops made a mistake, just like he (Mac) made a mistake, and then he'd see him at practice on Monday.
Landry getting caught at the strip club killed me (plus his expressions while checking out the nearest dancer).
I had lobbied (in my head) for coach to suspend Mac for a game, but definitely not fire the guy.
I was pretty happy that Matt finally got up the courage to ask Julie to be his girlfriend, that was a nice moment.
Anyhow, real good episode, for sure.

I almost gave up on this show early on, glad I stuck with it. Another ANOTHER excellent episode. Smash's mom is awesome. Coach and mrs coach too...

Great episode. I loved Coach having a couseling session with his wife. "Is there anyone else I can talk to?" And the way he talked to the poor girl he kicked out of her office.
Riggins was great this episode too:
JV: "I'm with you Riggins!"
Riggins: "Shut up."

This was a great episode. It couldn't have come at a better time for me, either, since I felt the last couple were a little lacking in one way or another. I really can't wait for the eventual DVD release, and I will be crushed if the show doesn't get picked up for season 2.

Did anyone besides me not know the coaches first name was Eric prior to this episode???
Great Episode, I loved Smash's moms speech to him, they however didn't show his girlfriend's reaction to him playing..
++ NOT enough Lyla in this ep

I was also asking myself if I knew Coach's first name was Eric. I'm not sure we've heard that before.
Thank god Smash's mom said what I was thinking. This kid has it all riding on football, and he wants to take a chance at loosing that?
Landry....I'm warming up to him. He's funny.
Any scene with Coach and Mrs. Coach is great. "Why can't we pick up our perps?". Is there anybody else I can talk to?
Glad to get a break from the Jason Street story, but I still need more Lyla.
Wednesday is quickly becoming my favorite night of tv.

^yea, i noticed that too.
i was also glad that the jason storyline was limited. i was really getting tired of it. i was also sad that there were barely any lyla scenes, but for this episode, if that meant less jason, then i'm ok with it.
i remember his name being mentioned...perhaps it was the first episode when he was being interviewed before the season started. he was being interviewed with jason. but the "thanks for the input, ERIC!" line was hilarious and real.
did anyone else find it funny that during the lunch line scene, the jv kid that was getting abused by riggins looked like a mini version of him?

I was 100% convinced the whole racism storyline would end in some bullshit predictable matter, but they hit it out of the park. This show is to nuance what Jerry Bruckheimer is to bombast.

I'm tired of these football movie cliches where the opposing team is constantly hitting dirty and the refs are clearly crooked. I was hoping that this show could avoid that and IIRC, the movie did.
What would those cops have done if they took Smash anyway, throw him to the wolves?

though i have to say, i was annoyed with smash's girlfriend, who kept trying to fan flames and instigate the situation even more.
