LCD Soundsystem - Sound of Silver

Anybody excited about this album?

It has a very New Order feel to it.

*Bump* to say picked this up, and am really enjoying it so far. Similar to the first album but with a deeper songwriting feel and some cool jams. So far really digging the tongue-in-cheek "North American Scum" and "All My Friends." Murphy is really coming into his own here.

"All My Friends" is one of my favorite songs released in 2007 thus far. Excellent album overall. Despite my general skepticism with Pitchfork's reviews, I think this is one they actually got right.

This is definitely shaping up to be one of my favorites of the year. Good replay value.

The concert - live, James and the gang are a ton of fun. Both the old and new songs merged effortlessly. To begin a concert with 'Us V Them' is a bold step since the song when played live to a frenzied crowd, threatens to implode both the venue and and everyone's exhaustion level. The dynamics of the show and watching the four other band members deliver the intensity of the songs to life was thrilling. Sadly though, after a blistering "Yeah', the encore song 'New York I Love You But You're Bringing Me Down' was a complete and utter downer, it's a good song by itself, but as the last song of the evening.... no. I could tell from the folks around me they were more than a bit peeved (including myself). The non-inclusion of 'Beat Connection was a glaring ommission and should have been the ideal ender to an overall fantastic live show.

I heard a d/l of the Coachella set and despite the poor sound it was a fantastic show, I love the energy Murphy throws into songs like Yeah and Daft Punk Is Playing At My House. If they ever come down under I'd love to see em.
