Ugly Betty - 2/1/2007 Ep

Did not see a thread on this.

I thought this ep was one of the best of the season. The writing has gotten a little mor edgier, the characters seem to be fleshed out, and I found myself laughing for more of this ep than any since the pilot. I have to believe the writers are feeling more confident after a full season pickup and it shows.

Forced appearances by McPhee and Tim Gunn were not necessary.

Kudos to Vanessa Williams for allowing full HD Close up shots, the woman is fearless and looks great. I would never see Marg H allowing these anymore on CSI.

It was a good episode, although I thought the timing of the police arresting Bradford right after Alexis's speech was a bit too contrived.

Vanessa is still stunning! No doubt about that. I thought it was a great touch to have Justin leading her around and explaining who everyone was and what they were wearing. The actor that plays him does a great job in his role.

The writing has definitely gotten edgier -- the throwaways are some of the best lines on TV right now.

I love Marg, but I think they shoot her closeups with the heaviest filter they can find.

I am really liking this show. Glad I started watching it.
Everyone just clicks in their roles and the chemistry is amazing.
I thought they would drag the Alex/Alexis thing out longer and I am glad they did not.

Not sure if this is a nationwide commercial, but has anyone else noticed Becki Newton (Amanda) as the hostess/waitress in the Olive Garden commercial where the mom comes in looking for her "date" and her son yells, "Hey, mom!"?

America Ferrera has done an awesome job as Betty.

As for Vanessa, I will watch anything with her on it. I even sat through that stinker South Beach last season so I could get my Vanessa Williams fix. She was stunning in that show as well.

I thought it was really funny. I like Vanessa Williams, but I think they put a lot of makeup on her. I saw her on The View a few months ago & she's looked really bad.

Watch how expressive her face is in that commercial. She's really a good, fun actress to watch.
