Any time Disney denies a special edition of The Black Cauldron, a kitten dies from cancer.

So wait....a big one like Dumbo gets a single disc re-release, but Aristocats gets 2 discs? Not that I'm complaining (although I must admit I've never seen it), but I just figured that Disney was done with 2 discs for non-Platinums.

You should give Aristocats a view....not a bad movie.

I just bought the single disc Lilo & Stitch because I thought Disney was done with 2-disc DVDs (apart from the Platinums releases).

I expect L&S will be the next 2-Discer announced now.

Probably will pick this up. I love 2-discers I think all Disney movies should get the 2-discer treatment, especially the classics.

Good! Awesome! I like how disney's doing their SEs, no matter what the title...except for Dumbo, which got no love, that had Platnium Edition writen all over it.

But Aristocats is a Disney film I have seen in ages...

This will surely have a slipcover and 100 Disney Movie Rewards point. I'm glad, however where is The Black Cauldron, and others in two-disc treatment?

Indeed. Still waiting for Hercules, Hunch, Robin Hood, Cauldron, And Rescuers as 2 disc sets. Black Cauldron is such a landmark feature, the first to have a PG rating for Disney animation, it deserves a fantastic 2-Disc set with an awesome hologram sleeve with the Cauldron on it lol.

Not to be a killjoy or anything, but does anybody think it is strange that for a titile due out in two months, it has not even been officially announced by Disney ??

Also, the official website it notes on the "flyer" is not even up and running

Not really. There's a lot of last minute announcements like this that come in under the radar. Not to mention the 1-Disc version was quietly retired a short time ago.

The website isn't live because the DVD release the flyer came with hasn't come out yet.

I can't believe Disney would lavish such attention on a stupid movie about a dirty joke!!
Kids might see the cute cats on the cover and watch it by accident!!!

Even more egregious than that, Pinocchio's only ever had one dvd release - a crapy transfer, no extras disc LONG out of print. What's their hold up with releasing that one?

I'll have to get this one. My 2 year old daughter ADORES this film and has pretty much decimated the existing copy I have.

Pinocchio was one of the 4 movies that Disney (last minute) decided they were going to add on to the Platinum release schedule..

Pinocchio was also released twice. Once in the limited issue, and once in the gold series. though the content of the disc is identical

As you might have already expected, The Aristocats: 2-Disc Special Edition will not be making the March 27th release date announced in an insert inside Cinderella III. BVHE has yet to set a new date, but a spring release is still possible. The DVD's first video preview will be found on Peter Pan: Platinum Edition next month.
