Wow the PS2 is still smoking hot. Also shouldn't the combined sales of Zelda Wii/GC be on the "all platforms" chart?

Damn, Nintendo is kicking some serious ass. No one would have predicted this for the DS or their next console. So much for going the way of Sega.

PS2 should be strong for awhile. New Guitar Hero, God of War II and Rogue Galaxy all on the Way.

Question is will 360 put distance on the Wii or get overtaken and is the PS3 just starting slow or dead in the water.

Aren't the PS3 numbers about where the 360 numbers were last year?

Then again, last year the 360 didn't have two new consoles to try to keep up with. So who knows how the PS3 will do over the next year.

At first I thought that the GCN version ot tLoZ:TTP outsold the Wii, but then I realized that these numbers were December and that the Wii verion had a three week head start.

But still 1.1M copies of a game in one month is great!

Actually, what I'm most stunned about is the shocking success of Guitar Hero II. Yeah, it's the talk of gaming magazines and sites, but it's an $80 game with controller (and a rhythm game at that) and it outsold almost all other holiday games. Amazing.

What, MS didn't sell a single Xbox this year?

Everywhere I read counts Zelda GC/Wii as one title since it is the same game, putting it number 2 on the year behind GoW.

Didn't MS pull the XBox after the 360 came out? I haven't seen an XBox in a long time.

It's funny that there are no PS3 games on any of the sales charts. The biggest selling PS3 games (Resistence) I don't think even cracked the top 30.

well, I know during the monthy stats that get posted here that MS sold a few originals in Japan this year because they were ridiculously low number like 5 a week.

Yeah, Guitar Hero is huge with a ton of people. I can't go into a Walmart or video game store or any other place that has displays and not see someone playing it. People of all ages too, it's insane.

But great.
