CompUSA DVD blowouts return...
Click here to search your local store. Enter your zip code, select your store, and click the "See this store's listing of blowout items" link.
Unlike the previous blowout, I don't see any TV boxsets listed at my local store, but there are still some good deals to be had:
- Bambi: 2-disc SE for $9.98 (going OOP on 1/31/07)
- several $4.98 titles, including Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Lemony Snicket, Finding Neverland, Shrek 2, Sideways, The Shining, several Pink Panther films
- several $7.98 titles, including The Incredibles, A History Of Violence, Jarhead, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, War Of The Worlds
- miscellaneous budget Warner titles for $0.98 and $3.98
- miscellaneous "dump bin" Columbia/Tristar titles for $4.98
Some great deals on discontinued new Mac laptops, too.

Good Find OP. I checked the Blowout list at my local CompUSA, there were only a few movies on there.
I then checked the main DVD page and found 3 titles for $2.98:
Spiderman
The Cave
Zathura
Looks like I'll be swinging by to pick up The Cave. Can't go wrong for the price of a rental!!!

Last time, they released a 25% off coupon about a week into the blowout sale. I'm not sure if they will repeat that or not. I'm going to pick up a second copy of Bambi at the very least.

Wow, not much in the Twin Cities area for deals, but thanks for the find. I'll have to check back every once in a while to see if something good comes along.

Searched the stores around Woodbridge, VA where the contact I use for all my USA purchases live. Only thing that was of interest was Flintstones Season 5 at Fairfax for $15. Sounds cheap.
Sadly I suspect its too far out of the way for him to travel. Since I don't know USA geography.

All of the DVDs were in the usual section at the Cincinnati store, not lumped together on clearance tables like they were the last time. Nothing was marked with the "blowout" pricing, but price checks reflected the lower prices. However, I have no idea what the miscellaneous $0.98, $3.98, and "dump bin" $4.98 discs might be, since no specific titles are listed.
I picked up the $9.98 Bambi and $4.98 Finding Neverland for myself, and the $7.98 Sharkboy and Lavagirl 3D as a birthday present for a nephew. The Lost: Season 1 sets were nowhere to be found. There were no TV sets at all, actually. I may pick up a few other discs if the 25% off coupon comes back, but nothing else on the Cincinnati list really jumps out at me.
I also had no luck finding some of the other listed items, including some iPod stuff and color laser paper for $3.98 per ream. (They did have some garbage paper for $3.98 per ream in stacks all over the store.) There was a clearance table at the back of the store that had some interesting (and unlisted) items, but none of them were cheap enough to get me to bite.

The Towson MD store was a complete bust. The dump bin had about 45 copies of FS Matchstick Men. I started to look for some titles in the DVD section, but it was completely disorganized. I gave up and left.

I saw 2 copies of Lost at the one I went to, but left them to someone else since I already have one and anyone I would buy copy has one. They also had to 2 copies of the Jackass TV show set and 2 copies of the Star Wars Trilogy, but I had those as well. What I did pick up were Sideways ($5), Shrek 2 ($5), Lemony Snicket ($5), The Village ($5), and Shopgirl ($7). The only one that I wanted that they I could not find was Dark Water for $5. On the shelves, some of them were marked as Manager's Specials (which why I bought Shopgirl as it was not on the inventory list), while others said nothing.

None of the items in the blowout list were available. I wanted a nice Pavillion laptop mark at $350 and it was nowhere to be found even though the inventory said that there were 2 available.

My Warwick, R.I. store was surprisingly enough, fairly well stocked. But then again, they hardly ever advertize. If I hadn't read about it here, I would have missed out, so thanks for that. Wound up getting The Passion of the Christ, Four Weddings and a Funeral, Arlington Road, The Legend of Zorro, Yours Mine and Ours, and Sideways for $4.98 each. The Misfits (Marilyn Monroe) for $5.00. And a stack of B-movie specials for $4.99 each. Especially geeked about Sideways for that price, that's my deal of the day. Thanks again.
