JoBlo's Best Trailers of 2006

100 Best Trailers

Click the link above to get a countdown of the 100 best trailers of 2006. Note, these are all trailers released in 2006, so some movies are from 2007 or beyond.

I agree with #1 being the best, but I don't see Dead Man's Chest or The Fountain anywhere in this list. I know one Fountain teaser came out last year, but wasn't the DMC trailer cut/released in 2006?

I also think Casino Royale is the better trailer to Poseidon and I would say audiences agreed. (Poseidon is still well done, but not a Top 20 trailer).

Thoughts?

The trailer for Dead Man's Chest did nothing for me when it initially showed, it just felt tired. Oddly enough, that reflected my feelings on the movie itself.

I thought the trailer for Dead Mans Chest was pretty good. I loved the movie too

I'd have to go with that as well. Poseidon at #5 is a bit surprising. The ones that I thought would be at the top are ranked pretty low.

The Spider-Man 3 teaser should easily be in the Top 5. That trailer was so good, it not only got a loud applause from the crowd, but it completely overshadowed Superman Returns which it was attached to.

Agreed. 300 looks great, and I will see it opening week, but Spidey 3 takes the cake hands down. When he wakes up hanging upside-down and is looking at his reflection of his original suit, that was the one scene I knew was coming but couldn't wait for.

The Grindhouse trailer should have been much higher.

"His name is Machete..."

Personally, the best trailer of last year was Marie Antoinette followed by 300 and the second Casino Royale trailer.

Agreed. I'd gladly watch only the trailer than having to sit through the god awful movie again. Just terrible. Still, being such a huge fan of the first, I'm sure I'll be there opening weekend for #3.

#1 is probably the best trailer I have ever seen.

I agree with the #1 pick, I thought the Bond trailer and the Prestige should have been higher.

Was that an actual trailer, or just a promo clip?

In any event, the trailer for Machete is much cooler than most of the trailers on that list.
