That must be one of the Johnny Marr co-writes, those are signature chord changes of his. I like it, though I'll never be a huge fan of Issac Brock's voice.

Holy crap that's good (God bless the internet). Anyone else think his voice sounds a little bit like Primus?

Exactly what I was thinking.

I'll still buy the album since I own them all, but this is disappointing.

Not bad, but not great either. I know better than to judge an album by the single though.

So I've kind of enjoyed "Good news for people who love bad news". At the risk of threadjacking, is that their normal sound or is the sound on that album different from the past? And for the record, I didn't think this single sounded all that bad.

Their old stuff is a bit different than that album, but it's not night and day and that they sound like a different band.

Good news is just a bit more polished and "poppy" in spots than their older stuff.

I highly recommend you to check out The Moon and Antarctica and The Lonesome Crowded West if you want to try some of their other stuff. They have some albums before those two, but they are pretty raw and really only for hardcore fans.

I would also recommend Building Nothing Out of Something. It is a compilation of BSides and Singles but it is pretty great.

Good news is a band who has definately howned their craft. They have a very unique sound though you can detect some of their influences (Talking Heads and Pixies). But if it is one thing that MM has never lost is their own original sound. Who ever thinks "Dashboard" sounds like The Killers SERIOUSLY need their head checked, especially their ears.

Love the new song. As always, Isaac's lyrics are the best!

Modest Mouse and Sage Francis are the absolute pinnacles of music that I listen to. The inspirations for what I do and how I live. Everything else is just second best. So I'm not suprised that I like it.

Yea.
