Thanks for your hard work Speedy. This may be a first for me in not looking for DVD's but DVD recorders or players.

If you have time and there are not too many, could you tell me what DVD only players and/or DVD only recorders are listed ? I am only interested in the DVD ones, not the combos and particularly those that upconvert.

I am planning to return a VCR/DVD player combo for a DVD only player or recorder that I gave as a gift for Christmas. That 15% is better than this week. They must really want to sell them DVD machines.

2 of the ones on the list I had just looked at tonight at Best Buy:
* LG Upconverting DVD Recorder (Model DR1F9H)
* Sony Upconverting DVD Player (Model DVPNS75H)

I also looked at Samsung R135 or R145 // and HD960

Hmmmm - I am going to have to relook at these in the ad since I did like the LG and that pricing puts it with the Samsung, but I think it does alot more than the Samsung.

This has really helped me out. But decisions...decisions...Should I get it or not. I need to get that gift replaced and I could get it this week and PM it next week.

Back to more research....
