Call of Duty 3 Resolution Problem

This game supports 1080i but it only outputs 480p on my Sony XBR400 and it supports 1080i.

The PS3 GUI on the other hand displays in 1080i. Whats the deal?

PS3 only supports 480p, 720p, and 1080p. No "i". At least not yet.

Hows that? 1080i is a supported mode. The video output setting in the GUI says the current output is 1080i. The instruction manual also says 1080i is supported.
