Xbox Live code redemption question

My Xbox live trial month ended today and I need to enter a code number from
a subscription card I purchased. My problem is, every option for redeeming
codes through the Xbox live marketplace asks for a 25 digit code but the one
on my card is only 9 digits. Will entering this work or am I looking in the wrong
place? I tried calling the helpline but they're only open from 6am - 10pm. I'd
hate to invalidate the code by entering it in the wrong place.

Thanks in advance to any responses.

...Later that night.

D'oh! I'm an idiot
The 25 digit code is under the scratch off section. I saw the 9 digit code next
to it and assumed it was a void if removed type bar, and the 9 digits were what
I needed to enter.

I'll leave this post here in case it may help anyone with the same question in
the future avoid the shame I feel now

I guess this is somewhat related but at what renewal did you have your subscription set for? I think the default is the yearly plan at $49.99. I went and changed mine to the monthly $7.99 rate. This way if I forget or don't get a subscription card in time I will only be out the $8 for another month. You can still add a new code afterward.

I hadn't entered any CC info into the unit so that wasn't something I was hit with when
it ran out. Good thinking though, as most stores will run sales here and there on the
sub cards and it being so easy to forget when your sub is due to expire.
