Most Disturbing moments in Scripted TV history (spoilers obviously)
I swear there was a thread on this topic already (and I actually thought i started it, but i couldn't find it, so oh well)
lets try to leave this to scripted programing and leave stuff like 9/11 ect out of it.
When Acerveda was raped in season 3 on The Shield
When one of the characters (I don't watch the show enough to know each characters name's) killed (and tortured to some degree) the kids in a season 1 episode of Deadwood
Ryan Chappelle's death in 24

When a certain scripted sequence in Pokemon physically caused kids to have siezures and sent them convulsing to the hospital. That was pretty disturbing.

They're kind of different though. One's deliberately distrubing and the other just shockingly horrific.

Ralph Cifaretto (Joe Pantoliano) beating that hooker to death outside the Badda-Bing in that Season 3 episode of The Sopranos.
As for the Deadwood episode, didn't Kristen Bell play one of those kids? It was pretty disturbing how she looked after she had been severly beaten.

Nothing I've ever seen on fictional TV has topped the reveal of Laura Palmer's killer to the audience in TWIN PEAKS...to this day, I'll never understand how something that creepy and horrifying got past the censors.

Not so much disturbing as funny, perhaps, but how about the 'Buffy' episode 'Doublemeat Palace', where a giant penis-monster ejactualates on her face, thereby paralyzing her? (how the mighty have fallen, huh? on the previous season when she went up against a giant snake, she jumped on its back and rode it for all it was worth) Good thing the lesbian was around to deftly avoid getting a facial (lesbians are notoriously good as avoiding penises, I'm led to understand) and managed to grind it up in a meat grinder.
As I was lying on the floor laughing, all I could think was "how did this thing get past the censors?"

Sticks and Bones (1973)
Thirty-three years later and I still remember this as if it were yesterday. Never re-broadcast or released on home video.
edit: as I write this, the banner ad below my post is for A Scanner Darkly, featuring Robert Downey Jr., the son of the Sticks and Bones director, Robert Downey Sr. This in itself is somewhat disturbing.
