Ok, here is my question for those of you who have Lexx Season 2 DVD set.

Volume 4 has episode 2.16 called "The Web".

Without giving story cheats, as far as I can tell it is the exact same episode as Volume 5, Episode 2.17 called "The Net".

Is my set defective? Are there some nuiance differences?

As you guessed I am working my way through the DVDs.

But I was wondering if anyone knew an official reason why in season 4, Lexx's blast went from a nice parallel line of hell to a cigarette smoke puff of fire ?

Without giving anything away, they are basically the same story, but the two episodes are basically told from different perspectives. There are a lot of unanswered questions in "The Web" that have an on-screen explanation in "The Net", as told by different camera angles, keeping the camera in one room when someone exits. I guess they needed a "bottle" show, and rather than just do a tired old "clip" show, they came up with this idea to at least make it somewhat interesting and worth watching. I liked it.


I don't know if it was officially stated, but I'd say it's the same explanation as to why the bridge of the Lexx changed apperance between the TV movies and season 2: that the Lexx is continuallly "growing/maturing." Also, without giving too much away, don't forget that we find out in season 4 that the Lexx is going through some changes/"growth". I'm sure they just wanted a new FX shot, though. Pity, I preferred the original FX, too.
