What the hell? (Or why aren't import games here in the US yet?!)
I was checking out a game for the 360 called "Bullet Witch." I was watching a gameplay video and reading review and it sounded like a promising no-brains shoot 'em up. I do a little research and this game is only avail in Japan! Arggh!! I went to an import site and see it's not compatible with a domestic 360. Then I check into when this will be released in the good ol' USA and there isn't a date until Feb 2007!! According to EBGames.com. Arrgh! This game came out in Japan in August. I've got a few questions to not make this a useless post. Is there way to get my 360 to play Japanese games? Why does it take so long for games to get over here when the 360 is more popular here?

Part of the reason that it takes so long is the translation process. Localizing games (especially those with a lot of text) is quite a chore. The other reason is they may not expect it to be a big seller here, so they don't want to spend the time and money to localize.
There are tons of great PS2 games and basically games for every system that never made it to our shores. It's a shame that the console manufacturers region-lock things, but it's something we're going to have to live with.
