Mad About You: Season 3 is coming!

From TVShowsOnDVD:

We've often been asked why we don't keep a list of "canceled shows on DVD," and this news illustrates the reason perfectly; just when you think something is gone for good, the studio schedules another release. There will be nearly 4 years between the releases of season 2 and 3; we've been told to expect the set in the 1st quarter of 2007, but since Sony has already announced most of their January titles we're expecting this one in Feb or March.
This is great news, I'd about given up on this. Some of my favorite episodes are in Season 3, so I can't wait. Hopefully, the other seasons will follow...

What unexpected news! I'd given up hope but I'll be picking this up on release day.

Oh hell yea! I thought Mad About You was dead for sure. I guess that means their is still hope for Boy Meets World and Twin Peaks!

This is awesome news. Now can we get the same kind of news about Night Court? Let's hope so.

Yeah, definitely great news! Not to threadcrap, but since I'm not THAT into the show, I'll probably still just pick up the "...Collection" set anyway. I'm kinda glad sales of the first two seasons were so poor, otherwise casual fans like myself would never have had an opportunity to pick up a "best of" like "TMAYCollection". Still, it's fantastic that diehard fans can resume collecting season sets!

The only Mad About You DVDs I own right now are a General Mills promo DVD containing the as-yet-unreleased 6th season episode "Coming Home" plus a featurette, and Disc 1 of the first season. The latter comes from the BEST BUY-exclusive "Contemporary Comedy" DVD starter set, and I'm thinking that sales of that set may have changed Sony's mind about MAY. It could have been either sales of the starter set itself, or people could have been using the included $10 off coupon for full seasons of MAY. Lord knows I would have loved to have used one of mine for "TMAYCollection", but of course my BEST BUY doesn't stock it anymore.

An aside for anyone who has those coupons, be careful when you redeem them -- they don't seem to scan, and the cashier who rang me up gave me 10 PERCENT off for each one instead of $10 off. Also, they expire at the end of this year, so hop to it!

Yes, let's. The news of Airwolf Season 2 blew me away, but then that's a different studio.

The wife and I appreciate that!! Obviously they waited until they got the word that you were done to release the rest of them....

That's how I usually get titles I want on DVD. As soon as I track down an import or record a VHS dub it gets announced.

I never watched it, but I thought this show was HUGE during its day. I would have thought it would sell well enough to be finished by now.

That took a while. Thought it was dead after that horrid "Best Of" they made a while back.

Glad to hear it, and will definately be picking it up (probably at the next DDD sale).

The only question is if it will be in horrible quality like season 1?

Hopefully not, since they're not cramming 20-plus eps onto 2 discs anymore!

nice looking cover art, MAY has always been one of my favorite tv shows, although I was hesitant to pick them up once Sony bailed on the series, hopefully this is a sign of things to come.

Re: Mad About You: Season 3 is coming!

I guess season 4 sold decent enough since it's release a few weeks ago to warrant a season 5 release. Yea! Set for Nov. 2 according to TVshowsonDVD and Amazon.

What a long, strange trip it's been to get these on DVD.

Well it's not really surprising, since Shout (IIRC) took over releasing these.

Re: Mad About You: Season 3 is coming!

Just got to disc 2 of my season 4 set. It appears to have a framing issue on the menu. The episodes played fine though.

Re: Mad About You: Season 3 is coming!

Now if they can continue with the last two seasons of Mr. Belvedere, then it's all good to go.

Re: Mad About You: Season 3 is coming!

This show was so great in the early seasons and so shitty at the end. But I have three seasons on DVD plus that collection, so I'd be in for this.

Rob
This will be a problem, though.
