Anyone keeping their Gamecube around for the Gameboy player?
With the backward compatibility of the Wii, I had assumed I would get rid of the cube, but then I realized that the cube and the gameboy player are the only way to play GBA games on the big screen.
I live in a small apartment though so I wasn't hoping to keep so much hardware.
Any thoughts?

I never had an interest in the Gameboy Player. Just sold my cube on ebay for $50.00 plus shipping. With the Wii playing cube games, did not see much reason to keep it.
I can see where current owners of the GB Player would most likely keep their Gamecubes.

Also, I've read conflicting comments about region locking on the wii. If the wii won't play Gamecube imports, that'll be another reason for me to hold onto it. Kururin Squash and Nintendo Puzzle Collection are two of the best Gamecube titles.

I sold mine to EB for $45 a few weeks ago (the cube), so nope.
That said, I wouldn't be entirely surprised if something of the sort came out for the Wii. Or at least available on the VC (tho having to repurchase would suck.)

I thought I'd keep mine for imports.. but I only have one that I'd miss (Mr. Driller Drill Land). So.. it might be better to sell my imports and give my Cube as one of those Toys-for-Tots things (that'd be better than getting $30 credit in my opinion). I don't have a Gameboy Player.
Or I might do that.

Yeah, it's such a small footprint, and I honestly hadn't thought about it, but it will be nice to put in another room and still be able to play GC games on the Wii in the living room.
I was just thinking about playing some GBA Zelda, maybe I'll fire up the player on the GC.

Another thing to consider is that even if you have a DS, if you don't have a Gameboy of some kind, you can't play original Gameboy or Gameboy Color games. Someday I want to catch up on all the portable Marios I missed as a kid because I opted for Game Gear over Gameboy.

Is $50 that big of a deal? I like playing Game Boy games on a big screen from the comfort of my couch. Plus, it plays Game Boy and Game Boy Color games as well—I still occasionally break those out.

I'm keeping mine around for now. I did sell the component video cable for ~$50 though on ebay. I hooked up the cube in the computer room.
Gamecube, Psone, Dreamcast are hooked up using a universal s-video cable to my Adaptec GameBridge adapter for playing on my PC (24" Widescreen CRT tube monitor)
BTW I know I should get VGA boxes...I just don't play them enough to warrant spending the money. I may actually sell them off at some point (OK, not the Dreamcast)...I don't have much gaming time ever since my daughter was born, and I tend to spend it playing Civ4
That said, I didn't realize that the GB player still goes for $50. I might indeed flip my cube & player on ebay, I could use the $100 or so.

I've always lived to regret selling old hardware. I cashed in on my skeleton Saturn and Halo Xbox and still regret it. I'm keeping my Cube and GBA player. I still have several GB, GBC and a ton of GBA games and like playing stuff like FF on the TV.
