Both Amazon and DDD have this dvd listed at 1/2/07. According to the picture at Amazon, it'll be an unrated, double dvd release.

I belive it only played in a few markets (NY/NJ, Philly, Cleveland, and 1 theater in Pittsburgh), and brought in less than $0.5 million. I'm hoping it'll pick up a cult following and make it's money back on dvd (similar to one of Artie's previous movies: Dirty Work).

Hmmm, both DVD Talk reviews claim it isn't.
If it is then I would like to pick it up this week while it is still on sale. I checked the back of the case and it just says Matted Widescreen, which i don't know what exactly that means.

The DVD is indeed anamorphic. I confirmed it on Tuesday over in the thread in the near vancant Reviews forum this site has. As I mentioned in that thread, it's not a great transfer (the compression and interlacing is fucking terrible), but it's anamorphic never the less.
And try and find the DVD at Wal-Mart. The one near my house had it for $12.

Ok, thanks. Perhaps the 2 DVDTALK reviews can be updated with correct information so as not to mislead any other potential buyers?

I think what the confusion is, there must be a flag turned on that makes the DVD player show it correctly on a 16x9 display.
I've run it through some tools and in PowerDVD, it says something about 16x9 but in DVD Shrink preview window, there are black bars on each side that you don't see when you play the movie.
To my eyes, it looks like a 4x3 transfer zoomed in. The detail is awful.
I'm liking the movie so far but the producers forget one crucial thing when making this type of formula comedy... you need to make the lead guy likable.
I love Artie on Howard but I could care less if this guy gets a job or lands in jail.
The character Bill Murray plays in Stripes is similar but you love the guy.
