Corvin posted about that $100 version last week in the main 360 thread when the news broke.

I almost wish they would release a single player version of the game and an online version one two different discs. I don't want to have an insane amount of online achievements so I'd kinda prefer two separate games, each at a slightly lower cost. I know that would never happen but it's something I've been thinking about after seeing some recent multiplayer achievements that I know I'll never obtain.

I'm surprised they're not releasing the game for $59.99 and the weapons for purchase on XBL.

his name will be "marest cfieh" in the retail version. you must buy a microtransaction to play the game with his name spelled right

Do not buy the $100 version. It's yet another test to see what we're willing to pay. If it doesn't sell we all win.

but that's just what people are willing to pay for extra merchandise, not the game itself

if they want to mess with people they could try to release the special versions 2 weeks earlier. that would be a more interesting test

You don't think the collector tins they put out last generation were a test to see what we'd be willing to pay? They were.

they've been making collector's editions for games for a long time. so halo 2 wasn't some special test.

releasing a halo 3 super duper collector edition is a test to see what people would pay for a collector edition. if lots of people buy a shiny helmet, then i see them packaging special shiny stuff to other blockbusters. but i don't see them using the success of halo 3 helmet edition to raise the price of standard editions of games

I hope one of these is the "finished version, with a good story" version of the game.

They forgot to release Halo2 in that configuration.

Yeah. That was at the tail end of the previous compendium that was locked. Same with the Assassin's Creed statue which also garnered its own thread. I was guessing at the price. When I posted there were no hard numbers. Although there was more detail about what was rumored to be on the discs.

I'll only buy the CE if it features more from the RedvsBlue crew.

While i love Halo and buy into many things in the franchise i can't seriously consider 100$ for the extra discs. Especially since some of the decent documentaries will probably be on youtube within a week of its release.

Heh, gotta love the internet. Might save me the 40$ difference between the game and the "Legendary" edition.

The thing is i really do like the idea of a big huge cool box set but i would want to see more than just extra documentaries. Maybe if the Legendary came with some expansion maps that would be sold separately otherwise. Or if it included Halo 1 and 2 running on the new engine with slick new graphics i would be more likely to bite.

Thank You!! After the garbage they pulled in Halo 2 they should give this game away for free!! I still can't believe they released a game that ended half way through the plot.

I just got a spam voicemail from Gamestop telling me about the upcoming Halo 3 pre-order. Another reason not to pre-order. They got my info from my Halo 2 pre-order, which was mentioned in the vm.

Eh, I don't really agree either. I don't think we're being tested any further in terms of pricing, and see it as nothing but a cool extra for fans.

If it's a full-sized helmet that is displayable... I'm in for the $99.99 version.
