Douglas Croft - talented child-actor from the 40's who "disappeared" and died at 37

You may remember this curly-haired young actor from the original The Batman in 1943 as Robin, the Boy Wonder or from the James Cagney classic, Yankee Doodle Dandy as George M. Cohan at age 13.

Other noteworthy films, not that there are many, include the Ronald Reagon film King's Row and the Gary Cooper film, Pride of the Yankees (both films showed Douglas Croft as the young version of the film's stars).

He died in 1963 but his last film was in 1947, and nobody knows what happened to him after dropping out of Hollywood, and nobody knows how he died. One of Hollywood's best kept secrets (or maybe it isn't so spectacular, which explains the apathy - maybe Secrets And Scandals with AJ Benzer featured this? Fame. Ain't it a bitch.
