For those of us who know Hugh Laurie from his younger, funny and sometimes very silly Brit Com days, I wonder if he will break out any characters like that tonight?

And if he does....will viewers who only know him from 'House' be amused or turned off by it?

Love Fry and Laurie, but since they have no recognition in North America as a comedy team, I can't see him breaking out any characters.

Pretty funny.

Better than nearly everything the writers could come up with not using an outside guest.

..right after Hugh comes out, I listened closely to the audience applause and noticed a very quick fade. Sounded like a "canned" audience mixed in.

I noticed that as well, which does not bode well.

Also, brightest f*cking map ever anyone?

Edited to add: Is it just me, or does Hugh Laurie appear to be going bald?
Edited to add 2: Patman noticed it as well, so apparently... yes.

Borat was probably one of the funniest opening on SNL in years. Schwing!

Hugh is really losing his hair in the back.

Oh great, first skit and it's based around a fart joke.

Yay for second grade humor!

SNL has been reduced to fart jokes - in their opening sketch no less.

Why does God allow TV Funhouse to still be aired? It's as if he hates me...

I laughed my ass off...but of course....it ends badly as usual because they try for one extra joke.

This anthem bit is piss poor.

The thermal footage of wind breakage was funny...once.

Smigel's cartoon was okay.

The butchering of the national anthem was a low point.
