DVD Talk Limited Edition
Not to threadcrap, but this movie did get poor reviews.
FWIW, I don't think dePalma is to blame. I read the book, which was also an incomprehensible mess of confusing plot twists and just too many storylines going on.
L.A. Confidential is much better if you are interested in James Ellroy material.

DVD Talk Gold Edition
While I do agree it's not as excellent as the book, I still love The Black Dahlia and can't wait to get it.
I know Universal won't have it on there, but I REALLY do hope they have the trailer attached to the disc.

Agree with bunkaroo:
CAUTION: RENT BEFORE YOU EVEN THINK ABOUT BUYING
Not a good movie by any means. The script is atrocious and NONE of the actors could save it - not even the accent-challenged Hilary Swank or the underused Johansson.
Another case where the trailer is MUCH better than the film.

I liked the movie, although I'd agree with "rent it first." It's a very polarizing movie, some people will like it, some not, and there's nothing wrong with either view. I knew what to expect and loved it, even the over-the-top stuff.
