Make sure the Yellow Video plug is inserted in the Yellow socket. I know this is obvious but believe me, a lot of people don't get this right. They usually end up with the white or red in the yellow.

TV set to the right input? Console powered on? everything plugged in?

Not trying to be smart, but it has to be one of those issues, almost. Good luck.

Yes, everything is plugged in, console is powered on, and TV set is the right input too

If you know anyone nearby with a PS2, I'd try and borrow their cable to see if it works.

Jiggle the cable. Sounds like the video plug is getting loose, which happened to my friend's TV and eventually forced him to get a new one.

Do you have another input on the TV to try?

Does your TV have any settings that can be adjusted for a particular input via a menu system on the TV itself?

Its possible you have a bad video input, or that someone has hosed a setting on that particular input...

Yeah make sure you don't have other inputs, most TVs have more than one. Also on the back of the playstation there is switch, so make sure it is set to the right channel.
